Hi everybody,
I have a stock 1990 4WD XJ just a little over 100K miles. Last week, I installed a 2" RE6165 w/Blocks (http://www.rubiconexpress.com/dynamic/mainpage.asp?folderid=185) that came with new shocks (Deutsch).
When I fired up the Jeep after the installation, I noticed that it had a small bit of wheel hop (I'm not experienced, but after reading some of the posts here, it seems that's what I have) and, most importantly, I get a jolt in the rear whenever I accelerate after a full stop. I am guessing this is AXLE WRAP? The axle wrap symptoms sound exactly like what I am experiencing. It's sort of like the lower half of the Jeep goes in reverse while the top half goes forward.....like an "S"??
Now, before you all blast me for installing blocks (why does RE sell the block kit?), is there something I can do to fix this problem? Someone mentined a pinion snubber. Will that fix the problem?
This sucks.
