Run a stock thermostat! I ran a high flow one and it had issues with flowing to much coolant.

I had that problem also with the high flow thermostat. It was the correct temperature but would still over cool and was really bad in the winter.

how are your grounds? 96 was not a good year for wiring.
your temp sender runs on OHMs, if you have a bad ground. turning on the a/c could build Resistance if there is no GOOD ground making your "temp" go up. look in to it you have done everything else

Sounds like you only have trouble when the A/C is engaged. My guess is that your fan setup doesn't produce enough airflow to evacuate the heat that is coming off the condenser and the engine coolant combined. Do you only have the two fans (one FFD and the stock fan)?
The only free thing to try is pressure wash the condenser and radiator to get bugs and crud out of the fins so that they can transfer heat more effectively. More than likely you will have to replace one or both fans

Try driving down the highway/interstate and then turn on the A/C for a while. If it still gets hot then the problem is probably with the radiator and/or condenser. If it doesn't get hot then you know the electric fan(s) are not able to draw sufficient air flow to pull out the heat.
i just dont get how a 2600 cfm fan isnt sufficient enough when the mech fan doesnt pull S*** at idle or at lower rpms. But i think with my hood vents that i did and puting the 195 t stat back in actually helped. My jeep will get up to 212 then my main fan kicks on and with a/c going the temp goes down to about 203 to 206 driving in 90 degree weather and stop and go city driving 
I really think taking out the 180 t stat and putting in that stant 195 helped big time.

Why not the taurus fan upgrade? I have it on mine with no southern cali heat problems.

ok so i drove the jeep to work today and starting off it was fine i got about 5 miles down the road with ac on and my temp slowly went up to 217 (95 ambient temp) then stopped at a stop light went down to 215 then started going again and it went back up to 217 then once I got to work i was starting to go into the parking lot (going about 20 MPH) and it cooled down to 213 i pulled in a parking spot and let it idle with the ac on and it cooled down to 208 in about 2 minutes. I wonder what this could be? maybe i should put my csf 3 core back in it. I did just order a tranny cooler (16000 btu) from jegs with a a b&m guage, and i was wondering how much does it bring down your temp when you bypass the radiator with an external cooler.

Heating issue

Ok, yesterday I figured I might as well check my water pump and make sure that isn't my problem. So then i put in some coolant and 1 bottle of water wetter and then today I took it for a drive about 4 miles away through stop signs and stop lights with ac on max and the temp went up to 221 :smsoap:. it does fine sitting there but once i start going it tends to heat up then. So now I am trying to figure out what the F*** is wrong! I have replaced the t-stat, water pump, brand new 2 core CSF, hoses are fine (old but fine), 10 blade aux fan. Here in a couple of days my tranny cooler should be here and i will bypass the radiator and just go straight to the tranny cooler. Maybe that will help with my heat issues. IDK what to do anymore. Should i put in my CSF 3 core.

My wifes runs at 210 to 220 with the AC on out here.It was 117 this weekend out here.They run 210 to 220 if you ask me.

If you have vents theys are probably forcing high pressure air into the engine bay at speed. With higher pressure behind the rad, you get no airflow through. Sitting still hot air can escape and the vent is effective.

So, out of curiosity, how many threads have you started that are actually about your junk running warmer with the AC on this summer, despite the different thread titles you give them? Ten, fifteen?
