Just got a new to me fishing boat that is in dire need of a small motor. Trying to take it out to downeiville area this weekend.

Let me know if any of you have one for sale..??

Have you tried CL? I've been watching motors about that size and you can typically get one for about $100-200 running. Typically not 10hp, but in the 5hp range and 2 stroke. Not the best but for the price you won't find much better.

Just get two of the 5hp's and run them tandem.

Hmmmm, not a bad idea as they seem to be quite a bit more prevalent on c-list. Carrying two motors around in the back of the jeep with gear would be a pain though and so would getting them both to throttle and turn n-sync. Right now the boat will be towed on top of the jeep, its only a 9.4 foot watertender. So setting up two 5hp motors each time I take it out would not be ideal but may be my only option if I don’t find a cheap 10 or 15.

Yeah two 5's would be hard, is a single 5hp not enough?

I actually put a 12 foot alum on the top of my jeep once... it was scary.

Oh i'm sure 5hp would be sufficient for just put-putten around but i have Americas crave for power and speed.
