I finnaly started my build tonight

Well after about 2 years of waiting and ordering parts here and there I finnaly have everything I need/wanted to be able to install at one time over a long weekend. Tonight I started dissasembaling the rear end, I only got to put about 4 hours in before my pops made me call it a night. But I was able to get it jacked up and on stands(tires on the front still), and pulled the wheels. Then I droped the axel and put it on stands. After that I put on the new rear SS brakeline, and attached it at the hardline but not to the axel yet seeing as Il have to drop it for the spring packs so Ill do that later. Next I attacked the swaybar.....its gone, unbolted it then cut the staps. The big bolts were hard to do with and hand tools so Im letting that go till tomorrow when I can just cut off the perch type thing that is above the bolt(it was a noise thing tonight). I was only able to get 1 shock off tonight with the outcome being 1 bolt came out nice, the other one I broke the nutweld on but was still able to remove the shock. I didnt really get into the other one yet. It seemed as if thos bolts may be a little rounded. Not to bad for noob...huh? I could deffinitly use some help tho.

My build includes:

RE6130
Mopar replacement bolts for all suspention parts grade 8 I think
RE 2 and 4 degree shims
PORC sye
Front DS off a 92 larado being retubed, balanced, & rejointed by SDL in VP I droped it off today
Crager D Window rims 15x8 w/ 4.00 BS
BFG MT/R 31x10.50

If any one is bored feel free to give me a ring Il be working morning till night Fri, Sat, Sun. I hope to get the end done tomorrow along with the sye. Then put the front on jacks and take my measurements with where the front end should be sitting, and give SDL a call. I hope they can pump it out by closeing Fri so I can go to work on Mon. On the bright side the guy phill said it would only take a few hours so it depends on how early I can get the measurements to him. He also said it was possible to turn it back over same day. Please till me if that is a bad idea, if so Il just do the sye and front end and give him a call monday and install it then if worst comes to worst and then go from there. The only thing is I would like to get it done by sat. So I could work out any possible kinks on Sun.....if all goes smooth. Who knows it could happen lol.

Thanks for all the help MWC and NAXJA for the info and tips

Im in the NW Subs about a mile from Ohear.

oops, those front bolts spinning isn't good, means you've broken the captive nut inside the pocket, you'll have to cut and get a wrench on it... I've had to do this, and it sucks.

Ok so its now 9:30pm friday night and the rear end is totaly striped down and ready for install starting bright and early tomorrow morning. 3 out of the 4 bolts were a major PITA, I ended up haveing to use a hole saw from the back of the frame rail to remove a busted bolt and nut. On the 2nd one I had to cut a channal at the bottom of the front spring hanger to drop a busted nut and bolt end out. For the 3rd one I had to drill through the end of a bolt I cut out, then use a bolt extracktor to back out the 2 remaining threds.

I was messing around a little bit and trying to do some dry fitting and I noticed that there are no metal sleves that go though the bushing on the leaf spring....is that normal? Also there seems to be a bit of sise to side play in the front, maybe a 3/8-1/4" of right to left play.....is that normal....did I dry fit it backwards because it dosent seem right?

P.S. If anyone with time tomorrow and has the know how of lifting please give me a call, I could really use a hand....Iv been going at it by myself and I need to be wraped up by monday aside frm getting my DS. Thanks a ton tim

status report: rear end is put back together and sitting on her new feet. The front passenger side is totaly torn down and ready for assembaly except I dont know how the old coil isolater comes off. Is it just a friction fit, or is there a coller or something holding it up there? Ater the front is back together Im going to start on the sye. Wish me luck. I think Ill be going at it myself because I know on ones going to be able to come wrench on Easter. The offer still stands anyone wanting to lend a hand would be awesome 773-640-8262. Thanks tim
