Hypertech Max Energy - who's used it, how does it work?

I'm not sure I understand your post. Zero gains, on a dyno, repeatedly.. am I supposed to have printouts on hand to satisfy your type?

He's asking about a specific product, which happens to be a programmer...and you're spouting off about dynos and chips and salsa and other assorted mumblings. I can't see how you're helping by badmouthing something you apparently have never tried.

Good thing we have someone to sort out which answers have enough information and which don't.
:hang:

Its ok every one.... he saw it on the dyno.

Not all of what was asked about has to do with a dyno.

PS. ive worked around dynos alot aswell. My guys never even cared enough to see what a pocket programer would do for HP on a dyno simply because we knew what kind of a waste of time it really was to stick a car with a pocket programer on the dyno. the gain would be so small that atmospheric conditions would never really let you see what it really did or did not inless it was just off the charts bad. Which more often then not it was. Too much timeing or Dumping fuel etc. etc.

Maybe if we dynoed it in space :attom:

Since the pressure in space is in the order of 10x-20 and there is a lack of O2 in space your engine would not work. Oh wait, those moon landing videos that were supplied by NASA had a bus in the background. Now that I think of it, they must have had it on a dyno.

Lets get the dyno in space gig going, there may be a need to dyno space craft.

OK, now that you have taken 30 seconds of time to read this useless post please print it, take it to the restroom and wipe your bung hole with it.

Ya gotta love the internet and all the bickering we can cause (me included).

Have fun and enjoy your day

I love it. This post sat for a day with no replies, I thought nobody would answer, and now look what I've started. :yelclap:

Im sure theres more to it then that.........

I guess it depends on what you want the programmer to do. Correct for tire sizes, change rev limits or speed limiters, etc they do as advertised. If increased power or mileage is the reason for purchase don't get your hopes up.

No programed for the XJ will correct for tire sizes. You want a PCM reprogram that can change timing, fuel, torque control, cruise engage speed, efan turn on temp, top speed, rev limiter, ect talk to [email protected]. It will not change your auto transmission's shift points or correct for tire size.

I don't know if this would be a fair comparison, but on Trucks they did a test with another kind of programmer but same deal. They used a "Fuel-Efficient tune" and they did a before tune, after tune, after tune and better driving habits. there was less the 2 miles further on the after tune (IIRC that was less then 1 MPG gain on there test) where with better driving habits and the tune they got 3-4 extra (once again IIRC). They should have done one with out the tune and better driving habits.

But if the performance follows suite, Yes there will be some change some may be noticeable but in general its not going to be something that is night and day.

People who post on here sometimes have a lot of nerve! Why don't you just post "Please don't answer unless you have the right anser to my stupid question." "Please don't answer unless you can be nice." That is a rediculous request.

Hey, your question is good, but this is XJ forum. Everyone gets to answer no matter how stupid. It's your job to sort it out.

WOW:callme: I just called home, and told them about that...

I just didn't want a lot of "my buddy used it on his 96 with 38's and 3.55 gears and it didn't do a thing except toast his motor" type answers...but you're right, you can answer whatever you want and I will have to sort it out.
I really respect you for not telling him to shove it...

Nothing is satisfying to him except for calling out other peoples errors or inconsistencies...

Good thing we have someone to sort out which answers have enough information and which don't.

Not even sure what your going for here, but thanks for adding a ton of very valuable information to the thread! I know I have made my decision about the Hypertech now..

Hallo Mr. Gore!

He He he I know right!?

...but....but....but.....manbearpig says it works great. Manbearpig says it made a Fiesta do 220mph:eyes:
My grandfather made a fiesta do 220k miles...

So I think If I am reading this right (and it has been a really fun read). Chips and tuners in general are a waste of time, unless you own a diesel XJ.
BUT
No one has answered the original question Has the Hypertech Max Energy been used by a person here on the forum for a Jeep Cherokee?
