Hydro assist cylinder selection question

I am doing a hydro assist mod to my front D44. My question has to do with the types of ends on the hydraulic cylinder. Is there a reason I haven't seen people using the cylinders with the integral heim type joints. At first glance, it would seem that that type of joint would help out with any misalignment. Is there a problem I am not thinking of?

Nope, you're thinking right. The threaded ends to accept a heim is more expensive than the others. The clevises found on the others are much cheaper and that's why you see more of them. Stay with the heims.
Price depends on if he's talking about the ones with threaded heims or ones that are welded direct. The threaded style allow easy length adjustment without the need to cut/weld mounts if something is off, plus if a heim wears out you can just unscrew it and toss on a new one. I've seen some guys running them that like those features.

I picked up a ram that has them welded on, so they're not adjustable or replaceable. But it was a lot cheaper than one with threaded on ends. It wasn't much more than ones with just the clevis or bushing style mounts.
