I fail to see where the last two folks (XJ and Hobo) who read my post determine I do not support the USA?

The foreign sources I stated as recommended reading are for additional information and a different prespective than the group think being promoted by the US media. If I understood more Arabic, I would be reading Al Jazeera also.

I am attempting to learn everything I can about this enemy who wishes to destroy the US and the western allies. It is my OPINION that the general populace has been mollified into a slumber and fed over the last 50 years that the worldwide jihadist movement is not a threat. The SUV, Latte & Packers comment was in reference to the "keep them fat dumb and happy" strategy and we will be easy pickings for infiltration (and we are infiltrated).

I should have just stayed with post #43 and went and painted my bumper.

I never stated that the above sources of information and the countries they come from are any more important than that of the US. It was my intention to recommend various sources to prevent group think which can happen as news sources chase the same story and quote from the same interviews.

You lost me.....are we talking about the debacle in the Middle East or the treasonous movement in the US to ignore the laws that are in place to protect our country from invasion? Or are we talking about how we need to be more PC so that everyone in the world likes us and nobody gets their feeling hurt? Or are we talking about how the world cries out to the US for aid when bad stuff happens, then complains that we didn't do enough?

Or are we talking about how we can no longer extract our own natural resources located on US soil because the enviro-freaks don't want a feather harmed, a bug squashed, a tree cut down, or dirt displaced in the process, which has made the US relient on petroleum from sources outside the US, which oddly enough......brings us back to the debacle in the Middle East and the Mexican border.

Let's review what the world expects of the good ol' USA........we should oust the evil dictators with no troop or civilian casualties, free the oppressed, rebuild the country, make everyone play nice in the sand, end terrorism through healthy discussion and compromise, end racism, halt the global climate change by lowering our carbon footprint through creation of an affordable alternate fuel source and convincing cows to inhale their own methane emission...oh, and shutting of the volcanos, rebuilding hurricane stricken cities constructed near the ocean below sea level, by stupid people.... stop hurricanes (see halt global climate change) so stupid people who want to live in coastal cities below sea level won't ever get flooded or killed again, make everything fair so no one ever has to choose between right and wrong, ensure that everyone gets paid the same and has excellent health care, regardless of their contribution to society, cure AIDs and cancer.

OK, forget about curing cancer and AIDs, that's expecting a little too much from us.

Seems like the world expects a lot from us, and for every one thing that we do right, there's folks pointing out how we did it wrong.....the same folks that do nothing to contribute, many who even undermined our efforts.

Unfortunately, this also describes far too many US citizens and even worse, elected officials we entrust to guide and direct our country and enforce our laws.

Convince me that were not headed down a slippery slope......historically, Democracies fail to survive much more than 200 years, which brings us to now.

It all ties together, I don't need an MA or an IQ of 150 to understand.

I've got to go, I seem to have exceeded my run-on sentence quota.......

OK. Here it is in simple terms.

1. The Islamic Religion wants to take over the world and create an Islamic State.

2 The use a tool called fataha. Empire Building. There have been 3 great fatahas.

3. The very 1st great fataha began in the 7th century and expanded Islamic lands from southern Europe through ther middle east and into India. This started collapsing with the Crusades & the Mongols and was pretty much done in by the 13th century. Persons that believed in the God of Abraham (Jews & Christians) in the conquered lands were not necessarily persecuted, but were second class citizens known as Dhimmis, People of the Book.

4. The Ottomans were the second fataha beginning in the early 1500's and lasting until they sided with the axis powers in WWI. The Ottoman's adopted a more liberal Dhimmi plan, a live and let live philosophy known as Millet. The Ottoman Empire weakened from picking the losing side of the war collapsed in 1923-24. Geo-polictical lines were drawn by European Colonial powers (victors in WWI). Over time the colonial powers granted independent status and the borders drawn are what's seen on maps today. In historic context, just fake lines on the dirt. With the collapse of the Ottoman Empire there was no Caliphate (Think religious leader), although strict intepretation means "The People".

5. The 3rd great fatawa, and the one that concerns me is occurring now. It began in 1973 with the oil embargo and gas lines. The Wahabi's (a religious movement in the Islamic State) realized how it could control the Great Superpower, because of our enormous thirst for energy and an easy life. Since 1973 the Wahabi's have exercised a great control over us, our need for oil has shaped foreign policy. Wahabi's infiltrated our universities, influenced our thought with Middle Eastern Studies courses. When a terror incident would happen, our news folks would call in professor Mohammed Somebody who would assure people on TV that the incident was no threat to the US. This and our lame responses to attacks (due to the oil grip around our throats) embolden the terrorists that decided to strike the US, September 11, 2001.

We were all lulled in complacency and it's still there. It's all opened source information.

As long as Americans care more about Anna Nicole Smith's body and Brittany's Hair they will not understand the real danger. The Crusaders, The Mongols, The WWI allies and the US (crushing Saddam's Army 2x) has embarassed the Islamic State, infidels beating the Army of Alllah.

That's my point.

With the exception of me using a wrong term in post #9, no has questioned my posts about my middle east views (#9 & #43) until i spoke up about reading or listening to more than the narrow focused US news. That somehow labeled me anti-US. (Still don't get that one). I take my oath to defend The Constitution very seriously and to heart, there is a copy sitting right here on my desk.

The Wahabi's let us take out Saddam in Gulf War 1, his secular views and large army was a threat. Will cruise missles hit Tehran, not likely. Iran is not a threat to the Wahabi's and we need their oil.

The bumper looks good in primer.

XJEEPER and Boatwrench both did a good job of organizing and posting many of my thoughts (much better than I could). What's the saying? You can always judge someones intellegence by how much they agree with you. :)
The foriegn press is interesting, they often follow the American lead and it's obvious the sources and slant are mostly (somewhat universal). There is some kind of agreement on what to print and disiminate multinationally. Different countries have different (mandated) operating systems for TV. I have a multi system TV and good enough language skills, to channel surf at a tangent. If a governement has sufficient control over information, they have control. The internet isn't the panacea it could be. Have you ever visited a site, with some good stuff in it, like a geological survey and had it disappear the next day?
I have a set of Germany Army maps (of France and the border region) printed in 1933-36. Think about it.
Due to time zones and sometimes poorly co-ordinated on the spot reporting, they sometimes get there signals crossed. There is often a correction or sometimes even a 180 a few hours later. That's the real tipoff, that news is centrilized and multinational in nature.
BBC often does a good job of repackaging the same subject matter, with a fresh perspective on occasion.
I get a condensed two hours of news a day of USA news, CNN (USA), CNN (international), ABC, NBC etc. It's pretty obvious the same people are doing the writting and/or the most of the sources are the same. It even gets wierder when you hear the same package in another language, with the same adjectives and adverbs.
The whisper in the Muslim community is "Saladin", if you talk politics, with mostly the young Muslims, the name will invariably find it's way into the discussion at some time. Usually whispered, dropped with no great importance attached, except it pops up again and again. The older Muslims are way to smart to talk to me. At one time, Sadam was supposed to be the new Saladin (in his mind). Maybe now it's Ahmadinajad.
I only have one real skill set, the ability to force myself not to focus to narrowly, to notice anomolies, almost an instinct. The answers are often in the tangents or at right angles to the situation or discussion.
The same skill set, that makes me a good game manager. I most always find game. My formula is simple, it's usually where you aren't looking or you would have aready seen it. Talk doesn't put meat on the table, rumor or even logic, will only take you so far. Trust your instincts.

I also agree with the multiple sources, have been reading BBC among others. Their local news makes interesting reading as it gives a more realistic indepth look at their beliefs and views that the main articles don't being repackged form US sources like cnn and such. I also like http://frontpagemagazine.com, has some interesting points not to mention realistic movie reviews...

The sooner the better I say. I don't like the idea of killing people, but as these little pip-squeak countries stand up and thumb their noses at us they need to be reminded that they need to play the game correctly.

I get so sick of seeing these idiots pretend they have any say in what we will or won't do.

Kadafi did it, lost a son.
Sadaam did it, lost his life.

Personally I like it when these dictators get their N*TTS wedged up their A$$ by our military.
