Hood compatiblity from early 90's to 2001

Is a hood from a early 90's cheroke compatible with a 2001? If so is it a direct swap or does it require any modification.

Did a thread search. Sorry if I missed it.

IIRC the are the same. To do say, 93 to 01 conversion requires fenders, header panel and bumper

Structurally, different. Externally and dimensionally, the same. I have a 98 XJ hood on my 92 MJ.

i think you misread it. he meant the hood is interchangeable, but if you were to swap the rest of the front end body panels to ones from a 97+, they would not be the same. such as the fenders and grille and header panel

Not to steal post... but what about the cowl(?) the piece with wiper nozzels and the wiper bolt passes through? Can I replace mine on a 2000 with an old(er) one?

Yes, they're the same.

yep. my mj is wearing a wiper cowl piece off a '99 xj.
