It sounds like a nice car for the money, most of them are $7500+

She'd like to come over Sat, so if your guy could look by then she would be very happy.

FWIW, I've seen quite a few of those G6s come into the shop for minimal work. Usually lower control arm bushings and steering noises. The steering noises are inside the column and all I ever want to tell my customers is to turn up the damn radio. It's nearly a "nature of the beast" kinda thing in those cars. I'm sure you've heard similar noises in other GM steering columns.

Other than that, those things seem to be quite reliable. I'd drive one anywhere. I wouldn't own one, of course that's because I have testicles, but I'd drive it.
 
Lower ball joints are junk, have to replace the entire LCA when they go bad. Not extremely expensive, but a PITA.

A guy at work has one, seems decent. Remember it's just a new Grand Am :D
 
Those lower control arms are a cake-walk. I'd do those everyday if I could get them into the shop. (When I was working on cars.) Of course, I also did it with a lift...that helps.
 
My girlfriend has put 40k on her 2008. The only issue has been the tire pressure sensors go all crazy when its below freezing.
 
I might be able to. GF lives up there, drives a Nissan, and I'll be there this weekend. Shoot me a pm if you need me to take a looksie, wouldn't be a big deal.
