Hit & Run, What a Great Neighbor!

I'm not sure how that's going to shake out yet. A few years ago some lady rear ended my wife and I while we were sitting at a light. There really wasn't any more damage than some scratches in the paint, but the estimate came back at $600 or something like that. The lady's insurance expired a few days before she hit us...

We had a $500 deductible, so the insurance company sent us $100 to go out and get it fixed, then they went after the lady. We just pocketed the $100 and didn't worry about it. Then, several months later a check for $500 showed up! :thumbup: Apparently they were finally able to collect from the lady and/or her insurance company.

Our insurance company hasn't changed, so I'm going to see if we can get the same thing going this time. I'll let them go after the dude and hopefully a check will show up. :dunno:

I feel your pain, but at least your's is fixable.

Some dumbass kid nearly killed me on I-25 a couple years ago, and took off. The great denver police did nothing.

Good God Man!!!! That is a major hit and run!!! I would have followed him and called the police at the same time or tried to anyway....... That sucks!! Damn punk kids!!:eek:

Thats sucks man, at least the damage isn't too bad. Do the doors open and close fine? I'd almost say take the insurance money and put it into mods, you'll just redent it on the trail anyways.

Hey Dutch, it's been a while since I've seen you posting up here. Yeah, doors open and close just fine. If I get any insurance money I probably will put it into mods. That's a big IF...

I would have as well, but my car had stalled after spining 3 times. Unfortunately I was in shock, or else I would have started it right back up and went after the XXXXer. When I came to a stop, I looked up only to see the kid staring right back at me a couple hundred feet ahead of me. I was almost waiting for him to get out of the car, but then suddenly he fired his beat up pos (bumper falling off, front end all messed up) and took off.

me -> :wave:

What really pisses me off, is that obviously the kid's parents didn't report him when he suddenly comes home at 1am with a junked car with red paint all over the front end.

To the OP... I really hope your insurance company (or there's) is a little more helpful than mine. Good luck.

that sucks about the damage, but i say take the insurance $ and get some more parts.
