Looks like a nice find. Now lift it, mod it, and wheel it.

Hey Tim, glad that thing is up and running. Saw it sitting outside your place in Vincennes this morning.

Definately have to get it a little bit of lift and some better tires.

Heck, I gave you a non-disco HP30, what happened to it?

it had no axle shafts... i stil got it i could do my carrier n get non disco axle shafts from midwest or somewhere... i never thought of that. now thats an idea

Welcome!!

It should have an open carrier with 3.55s in it already, all you would need is shafts and brakes, which should swap over from your disco axle.

i havent figured out what gear i have in the xj yet. it would be saweet if i had 355 cause id just swap it and not have to worry about getting gears set up. but if it dont thn ill have to get sumone to do it for me.
i knew everything would swap from the disco but it just a matter of doin it with no garage and a foot of snow on the ground lol

Nice start Jeep and hell of a deal for 500 looks pretty clean for rust too, how are the floor boards?

floors are ok theres a lil rust around the drain holes
the rockers on the other hand are kinda rought the only thing that resembles a rocker is the paint with a lil bit of crusty metal as a backer.
i want to cut it out and put box tubeing in but i havent gotten to that

Nice, looks just like mine did before I beat the living crap out of it... :D

And don't worry about the disco: they're really not that bad.

I'd be more concerned about the 35 (or 27spline 8.25) out back.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

Robert

Well, if you're not interested in fixing it so it works, you can just pop the disco box open, and shim the shift fork over to the left.

Essentially a free fix...
