Hey! I'm moving to Bayfield!

Well, I landed a summer gig with the Forest Service (hoping to make it into long-term) and I'll be based out of Bayfield, Colorado. Not much of a town, I know, but it is close enough to Durango to have some fun I hope.
Anyone down around that way care to meet up, grab some burgers & maybe run around a bit? I'll be down there around May 23rd...

Bayfield is a nice place. I got engaged there last summer at a cabin on Lake Vallecito. I know they had a bad fire there a few years back or something. Also a bad beetle problem that kill all the pine trees. Only about 30 mins from Durango which is an AWESOME town. Tons to do there in the summer, then you have Wolf Creek, Durango Mountain Resort, and Telluride near by if you ski/snowboard.

You will love Colorado.

Nothing wrong with Bayfield. We originally looked to relocate to that corner area but the job market was tough for education (with Fort Lewis so close). That'll be an excellent place to spend the summer. Have fun.

My brother lived in Bayfield for the last couple years, enjoyed the rafting, fishing and wheeling for sure! Good brewery in town and a few in Durango. They also have nice hot springs just north of Durango. Have fun

i live in bayfield and its a verry nice area... too bad my jeep still isnt up and going ... but by the end of may one should be.
