I saw his dad once around the shop there and all I can say is like father like son.
That's too bad.
I'd say the kid has talent but he doesn't, his welds are terrible lol. He's a nice guy and you hate to see someone in that way though.

another NAXJA member parks his RV in their storage lot and it's like a game to see how long he can get off without paying, I think they bill him about once every 6 months.

Bud's Muffler in Co. Spgs. Ask for Jeff (the Owner) and tell him I sent ya.
Frank - Can I assume he does mandrel bending?

My Jeep needs a new exhaust very soon, and I have a car that could use an upgrade as well. I'd love to have a nice local shop that could do the work and stand behind it.

I ended up going to hanksville for convienence sake... don't go there.
here's the work he did and he charged me 940 bucks!

also, I wouldn't go to all american 4x4 in highlands ranch for an alignment if I were you, they did a 2 wheel alignment on the car for me, I went there because I had time and couldn't drive the car very far and they're across the street, 120 bucks for an alignment.

Dude you got fooked like a two-bit hooker when the fleet is in port! Jeebuss...$35 per bend is crazy!
originally he estimated 400-600, then I dropped the car off and he estimated like 680, then he gets it on the rack and calls to say it'll be a "little more" because there are more bends, then he sends the bill at almost a grand!
I'm kind of a prickly bastard but I don't think the work it that great. I'm going to see if he'll give me the co4x4 15% discount then I'll probably be a happy camper.

I never thought I'd say this to a guy, but...
Can touch your exhaust pipe?

:roflmao:

this old guy at work collects old, pre ww2 british cars and he's having one of the engines freshened up and new babbets poured. he comes into the office all excited and says loud enough for everyone to hear "hey! come out in the parking lot I want to show you my rod!"

Just...wow...Did you have to make animal sounds while they did that?

I can't help but think they could have run duals with an X cleaner and easier.

twice the bends and twice the price I bet.

I just noticed I swear it looks like he ran one 2.5 into the other 2.5 into the cat THEN went 3" that isn't cool.

Obviously there isn't a whole lot of room to work with under there...... Long tubes seem to be a bit too much. Why not shorty headers with 3" collectors and use 3" exhaust pipe the rest of the way out?

Yeah, that junction, or "Y" is the crappiest I've seen in a while. You're running long tubes, then he chokes everything up with a reduced diameter tubing immediately after the collectors, down to the junction at the "y" and then he goes with larger tube after the cat.

Man, for $900 I think I'd have insisted on running dual cats after the long tubes, then go with the larger diameter tube and continue with dual tubes to a high-flow "Y" closer to the diff and then out to a muffler with at least a 3" inlet.....

As it currently is designed...... the location of the "Y" is way too close to the long tubes.

that muffler is a 3" inlet, or so he says. I haven't seen it in person.
I don't know what to do about it, I'm not happy with the layout period, I wanted a 2 into 1 with one cat but this just isn't working. I wanted 3" at the colelctors but he said he couldn't make it work and wanted to go 2.5". I don't want him to redo it but I don't want to pay 1k for a hunk of crap either.
I mean you go to a good shop with a good rep on co4x4, you pay good money, and I get a job marginally better than the alcoholic down the street would do for $300.

(Oops, sorry. I didn't edit your post - having mod powers gives me an edit button right next to the quote button - clicked the wrong one. -Yellaheep)

Yeah, he really should be ashamed to take $900 for that. I can't imagine he's real proud of that "Y" set up..... surely he's done performance exhausts before right? A bit more time spent on it could have at least resulted in much less drastic of an angle...... seems like flow is really going to suffer at the junction. If that exhaust were being built for a V6 stock HP vehicle it'd be fine, but not behind an LS1......

Looks like you're gonna have to plead your case with him. Best of luck!
