I saw his dad once around the shop there and all I can say is like father like son.
That's too bad.90xj4x4 said:I saw his dad once around the shop there and all I can say is like father like son.
Frank - Can I assume he does mandrel bending?Frank Z said:Bud's Muffler in Co. Spgs. Ask for Jeff (the Owner) and tell him I sent ya.
originally he estimated 400-600, then I dropped the car off and he estimated like 680, then he gets it on the rack and calls to say it'll be a "little more" because there are more bends, then he sends the bill at almost a grand!Frank Z said:Dude you got fooked like a two-bit hooker when the fleet is in port! Jeebuss...$35 per bend is crazy!

I never thought I'd say this to a guy, but...philip_g said:I think the welds were cooled with the blood of 72 virgins.

Can touch your exhaust pipe?
twice the bends and twice the price I bet.Hypoid said:Just...wow...Did you have to make animal sounds while they did that?
I can't help but think they could have run duals with an X cleaner and easier.
philip_g said:that muffler is a 3" inlet, or so he says. I haven't seen it in person.
I don't know what to do about it, I'm not happy with the layout period, I wanted a 2 into 1 with one cat but this just isn't working. I wanted 3" at the colelctors but he said he couldn't make it work and wanted to go 2.5". I don't want him to redo it but I don't want to pay 1k for a hunk of crap either.
I mean you go to a good shop with a good rep on co4x4, you pay good money, and I get a job marginally better than the alcoholic down the street would do for $300.
YELLAHEEP said:Yeah, he really should be ashamed to take $900 for that. I can't imagine he's real proud of that "Y" set up..... surely he's done performance exhausts before right? A bit more time spent on it could have at least resulted in much less drastic of an angle...... seems like flow is really going to suffer at the junction. If that exhaust were being built for a V6 stock HP vehicle it'd be fine, but not behind an LS1......
Looks like you're gonna have to plead your case with him. Best of luck!
