I need a custom exhaust and the only guy I know locally that will do it is an alcoholic here in CR that does marginal work and takes forever.

:rof:

near castle rock preferred since I have to drive up on open headers.
In return I'll share my secret really awesome machine shop guy.

Collins Bros Muffler in Loveland is the best. Reasonable prices, the best work I have seen. They did my complete exhaust from the new header back with Magnaflo and high flow cat. It was around $350 and was all custom bent and fitted.

definitely not going to make it to loveland on open long tubes without getting stopped by the five-oh
I bet I can make the springs if I take parker road down, any idea what he charges frank?

I've posted about it before- I'm putting an LS1 V8 (of the corvette and camaro/firebird, though mine is the later because of the accessories and transmission layout) in a 93 mazda RX7.

Sounds like fun. Taking it to track when you are done?
Nah. just a nice(er) weather toy and nice weather daily driver. I have a weird obsession with going fast for not a lot of money. 400 RWHP and a 2400lb package should do 11's at sea level I would think. Wish it were more of a sleeper though. Anyway I've wanted an FD since I was in high school and with a V8 instead of the rotary it should be even better.

What trans manual or auto? I have a 91 Mustang GT with Edelbrock Victor Jr heads, Victor 5.0 intake , Tremec 5 speed, 3.73 and ton of other mods. Used to have a Novi 2000 but I sold it before I moved to CO. Plans now are for 408 stroker. Blower was fun but silly fast. Just spun like mad. I have new disc brakes (all 4 corners) and springs to put on this winter. Set of Mickey Drag Radials for April. So I can hit Bandimere. Do a little test and tune. Sounds like a cool car I would like check it out sometime.

I don't know about cheap but closeby to you Hanksville Hotrods is in Highlands Ranch and I know they can do all kinds of fabrication so a custom exhaust would probably be a snap. They will even custom make headers for your application.

Otherwise I had my jeep exhaust replaced at Bud's muffler in Denver. 1010 Santa Fe. Don't know if it's the same guy as the one in the springs but it was VERY quality work. They put it up on the lift and then brought me out under my rig and he pointed out what needed to be done. When they were done he asked me to come out again and make sure I was happy. I was impressed by the customer service.

T56 6 speed from the F-body.
motor has a small cam, LS6 heads, comp 918 valve springs and comp rods. If I keep it long enough I'll turbocharge it down the road, not a huge blower fan.

HR is real close since I bet he's right off santa fe on the west side. Wonder if he's near lou's cars, I've had him dyno a few cars for me, nice guy but doesn't do exhaust.
I'd like some quality work and need someone that will take the time to keep the exhaust tucked well since the car is pretty low, I just don't want to get bent over for it.

I needed a tuurbo mid pipe fabbed for a car and didn't know anyone so I tried the midas in town, it's a 4' pipe and they wanted $350 LoL. The alcoholic made it for $85

yeah, Gene's muffler.

the guy is, craig is his name, he's a nice enough guy, a little weird, but doesn't have a DL due to a few too many DUI's.

Hell I've worked ON my car IN his shop on his lift and he still has no idea who I am 2 weeks later. it's too bad. I think his old man used to teach auto shop at the DC highschool. If you look at his tools a lot of them have DC autoshop engraved on them, lol.
