Alright guys, here's the pics of my ride. Short story about it. I picked it up about 3 months ago for a 100.00. I knew the drivers floor was bad, but had no idea about the rest. Had quite the surprise when I pulled the carpet!
I'm building this as a primary daily driver with off road trips once a month or so... So, interior creature comforts are important to me, I have a half hour commute each way to work. I'll post this in segements... Here we go!

Looks so purty... Angel on the outside... all Devil on the inside

I'll post more soon, need to put the kids to bed!

dang, good luck with that. is it a 96?
btw, awesome garage!!

For as nasty as those floors look, the carpet is still very clean. I'm with IllianaXJ, nice score man!

yikes. scary.

makes me very afraid to pull up my carpet now

Yeah, it was pretty wild. I had no idea the floors would be that bad! Once I started crawling around in there though I kept feeling my knees going through the floor, lol. I was thinking... "Uh Oh, this is gonna be bad"

Here's some more updates...

My dad helping me cut out the floor... I really like the way this pic looks, lol. One bit of advice. Cover your glass with something before using a grinder on the inside (or outside) when working around glass. All the sparks caused damage to the windshield. Though it's hard to see, it feels like sandpaper when you run your hand across the inside... Live and learn I guess.

New floors going in. I had a friend of mine who owns a body shop bead roll all the ribs in for the stability factor.

Next, I used Marine Clean, then Metal Ready from POR-15 to prep the surfaces. Once that was ready I painted all the floor and unfinished metal surfaces with POR-15.

Next set of pics will be all the wiring and electronics...

$100...what was wrong? theres probably a warrant out for your arrest for grand theft auto
The owner broke the rear ujoint at the diff and said they were sick of it "nickel and diming" them to death... They said they just wanted to get rid of it, they didn't need it, it was just a spare vehicle. So, I told them I'd give them a 100.00 and pay their tow bill. So, it was actually 146.00... :eeks1:

I've only been a Jeep owner for a few months (and I'm no mechanic), but I'd say you got a pretty good deal! AND because it needs so much work, you get to play in that sweet garage even more!!! BONUS! Well, congrats and good luck!

Here's the electronics portion of the build. Man, what a nightmare... Hardest part so far. Here's what I've got... Alpine head unit with iPod interface, Daimond Audio 5.25 front components, Polk Audio 6.5's in the o/h sound bar, Alpine 4 channel 150 watt amp for the mids and highs, Alpine 300 Watt mono amp for the sub, 12" Kicker sub, 14 gauge speaker wire to all speakers, iPod ran into center console, Sirius receiver flush mounted, Nav unit flush mounted, Cobra CB with controls built into handle, receiver hidden away, remote antenna for the Nav. I think that's it so far!

Here you can see the flush mount Sirius and the connector for the CB

That's about it for now. I'll get pics of the interior all installed soon.

Man I love the garage I would never leave. Do you plan on lining the floor before you put the carpet back it. It will add strength to it also. You had a lot more rust than I did. But looks like you did a good job of cleaning it all up. I am impressed. I still can't believe you stole that vehicle for 146 bucks. WOW!!! Thanks for the new thread. I am scared to rip out the carpet of my wifes waggie cause Just don't feel like all that work again lol. But I will have to again soo since it is a 87.

NICE RIDE

I didn't do anything more to the floor except silicone all the seams on the floor to keep out water. You really think that lining the floor ill add that much more strength? Isn't that stuff flexible?
Anyway, thanks for the compliment on the garage, I do spend a lot of time out there. Sometimes too much, just ask my wife, lol.
