I’m in the middle of installing C4x4 tow hooks and I’ve run into a problem. I cannot get the bumper back on with the tow hook supports installed because of their extra width on the outside of the frame.
I’ve noticed in a few write-ups that guys have removed the bumper brackets from the bumper and bolted them onto the tow hook supports before installing the bumper. I presume that this involves removing the plastic end caps.
Regardless, I don't understand why this approach works as it doesn't solve the fact that the tow hook supports on the outside of the frame make the width wider than stock. Can someone explain?
