Have you ever seen these tails before?

I just came across them earlier today also. If I read the ad correctly its the tails and front/side markers. I don't think thats to awful bad for the price but I'm not a big ebay fan from a quality product standpoint. I'm thinking I'd hold off until someone posts a review of them.

for $10 you can do the markers yourself with the night shade paint from any parts store

Pricey for the whole set, but man do I like the look of those

I've seen them months ago. I was thinking of using them for my LED tail light project.... that's assuming those stupid LED signal markers get repaired.

Why hasn't somebody done a pair of Waggy style tails in all red for the late models yet?
Why hasn't somebody done LED tail lights yet. Every other Jeep has that option.... except us.

because our Jeep hasnt been made for 10 years!

Also, I dont feel like multi quoting because im lazy and incompetent, but to adress the VHT nightshade usage.

Been there, done that. Looking for something that looks a little more clean, and I really dig the not shading over yellow.

Considering you can buy similar tails for 50 and similar markers for 30....

Plus a can of VHT for 10 bucks.

Not exactly the best price IMHO

With regards to quality, I've bought 9 Depo lights (5 turn signals and 4 side markers) and they've all been good quality- virtually identical to OEM. If you order lights from some of the "big" Jeep retailers, you'll get Depo lights with an Omix/Rugged Ridge label on them.

I don't like the smoked signals, but at least they're making lights for Jeeps. I'd like to pick up a set of red/clear taillights one of these days.

age, shmage. You can buy LED tail lights for CJs/YJs/TJs, and they still make new versions of LED tails for WJs. More to the point, if they're still willing to make red/clear, and smoked tails for our XJ than they should be willing to make LED versions as well.

I currently have the red/ clear ones on my Jeep, but I would rather the tinted version. The red/clear ones would look better on a lighter color Jeep - like yours - IMO.

Well then I have no idea. Maybe they have figured out we are all cheap sons of guns. :shhh:

Yep, I mixed black candy with clear coat, sprayed a few layers until I was happy and then sprayed straight clear over them so they could be buffed w/out losing opacity. For anyone thinking about doing the same, mixing black paint with clear doesn't work and it kills the opacity of the light that transmits through the housing. You need a black candy. I'll go take a picture right now to show, but I'd say tinting the tails only reduced the light transmitted by about 10% through the housing.

I put new bulbs in when I tinted them to try to offset the dimmer lights (they were nearly 20 year old original bulbs).

First pic is without flash, second is with flash. Just parking lights on, for obvious reasons, I couldn't take a picture with me holding the brake.

BTW: Am I the only guy without a passenger side reflector in his tail light?

i have VHT'ed so many lights for people as well as my self... obviously the more times you layer it the darker it gets... on my DD TJ i think i did one shade too dark but it is still ok... make sure to lightly do each coat and let it dry... i have cleared over some and not cleared over some and the tinting holds up nice

to the original poster: i do like those tails! kinda pricey for what you get though

My turn. I much prefer Alsa Corp's black candie concentrate for any type of "smoked" look. Much more consistent, and you can wetsand to get a smooth mirror finish, not to mention durability.

I've come to the conclusion that in this day and age anything that comes out of an aerosol can is garbage. Except brake cleaner. And PB blaster. And lithium grease. Ok I retract that statement...

I recognize the car, did you paint them or have a friend do it? I don't recognize your username. The guy who posted this picture was the one who made me decide to buy Alsa too.
