HARLAN August 21 and 22

Had an awesome time!!! Thanks for being cool to a noob and his crew. I knew kind of what to expect, but my brother was quite surprised by the capability of these rigs. I'll get some pics from Sat posted up soon.

Best friends.

Once again, I hate you guys so much...

...Neal and I are still laughing our asses off about that. Bomb Pops! I just feel bad for Richard since those guys were banging on his truck and yelling at him. When we woke up today I expected them to come over and ask for a ride, luckily they were so hammered they forgot about it.

7 hours to get home with a half-hour break for food. I did move the Jeep up further on the trailer and the Tahoe pulled it home great (though it was sagging bad)... did about 65-70 with no sway and the brakes even worked well. So maybe I won't get a diesel just yet. Keeping it in 3rd instead of OD helped a ton on those hills

All in all... totally awesome time, just wish it was closer. Hopefully we get a chance to wheel together again before WF10.

It was a great time. Nice meeting Richard, Eric and everybody else i didn't know. And you can find my pics here. Can't wait to do it again.

nice pics guys, that place looks pretty cool

Yep, I didn't know anyone before this, so it was great to meet you all :wave1: I'm ready to wheel with yall again. Pics are here http://s441.photobucket.com/albums/qq133/wheater13/Harlan Aug 09/

A few highlights:

A tight squeeze for Brian in the Lion's Den...

...maybe not!

Richard in the second part of the Den...my son calls yours the "Spiderman Jeep"

Me getting ready to get a pull from Nick...stupid rocks!

If I were a better photographer, I would have caught Craig's rear tire 2 feet off the ground. Nice job on this ledge that I was too sissy to try, lol.

After Brian's DS doom and then lots of persistence by Richard, Lower Damnation finally succumbed.

This was the second obstacle in Lower Damnation. I was like "no way" and Nick was like "yes way!"

...then Richard proved it in short order.

And the best for last...my son and nephew playing with their Lego 4x4s in the mud...they are definitely hooked!

Damn! Looks like you guys had a blast!

The hills are way steeper and muddy than they look on film...

You are too kind, Nick. You edited out the part where I had to be pulled the rest of the way up that hill :shhh: ATs and open diffs aren't going to cut it for long. Getting at least one axle locked is going on my short list, but it's still a blast wheelin it like it is!

Looking forward to the vids when you have them up, the end of this one was a real tease

Promise it will be worth the wait as this was 4 mins of a total of 120 mins of video..

Eric you just about got up that hill.. It was one of those (Heavy on the Skinny Pedal moments):D
