what do you think it meant when people started talking about Obama putting gas in their car and paying their mortgage

when the govt pays the mortgage it's because they own the housing... national slums on the way... CHANGE!

The only people making it harder to own guns right now are the people running out and panic buying. The prices are going way up because demand is huge suddenly. When an ar15 is twice the price it puts it out of the reach of alot of people just as effectively as a ban would.

Im tempted to buy a rifle Ive been wanting now rather than later just to try and avoid price hikes/gouging.

All I want to know is who makes those guns everyone is buying, so I can buy real cheap stock in the company on Monday! $$$$$$party1:

The only problem is people will know that they are just rumors where as gun ban is going to be a fact and a legitimate concern.

Rumors have a way of becoming fact.

Like bank runs.

By the way the FDIC just closed (seized) a Houston bank tonight with 14 Texas branches. Failed bank number 16 this year.

But,

:shhh: don't want to start any rumors.

the erosion of rights, slowly or not, is wrong. The, what is it, bill of rights, I think. Does it not give me the right to keep and bear arms? I don't know. I know what Obama has said about his views on guns and ammunition. So, with the knowledge of his views, Mrs. Pelosi's views and others in the Democratic party. I feel it would be a reasonable thing to do, go and purchase a weapon. We saw the Clinton administration ban assault weapons, (show me a non assault weapon?) did we not? The idea that intelligent individuals would sit at a keyboard and pretend that the rights of others does not matter is amazing to me. You Eco have every right in the world to not own a firearm, or to rush out and purchase one. However to look at the history of the Democratic party and gun control, and pretend that sweeping firearm laws are not a reasonable expectation is silly. Look to our government for "sweeping firearm laws" in the next few years, you can quote me on that. When it happens you can come back to this thread and say, hey msrorysddad was right, (:patriot:and right wing)

EXACTLY

It's funny how people can say in one breath that it's a woman's right to choose whether to murder her unborn child...and in the next say that it's NOT my right to protect my family. Where have we gone with our society if preservation of human life is no longer of precedence?

:peace:

Last time I checked we are all typicall born with 2 arms. So just how many arms to you need?

God forbid that the government should decide to disarm us all. Even I would have to fight against that!

Just tried to buy a couple of kits for some lower ar receivers, they are back ordered for 12+ weeks, in fact the companies I tried would not even take an order on one.
Obama is not even in office yet and already the prices have shot through the roof.

Brownells has Bushmaster LPKs in stock. Or so I hear...I don't have any guns anymore. ;)

Also don't buy from anyone price-gouging. Friend of mine reported a local shop to the State Attorney General for gouging. ;)

Out of stock on most of the stuff.

Looks like I'll have to dig through the Archives to find other stuff we may find handy.

The problem with "banning" guns outright is simple - the information to make them is already out there (firearms, ammunition, ...) and you've never been able to tuck a bugle call back into a bugle. What started out as the work of geniuses and engineers has become the work of tradesmen and craftsmen to reproduce - we have the advantage of knowing it can be done already. So, why design something new if we can copy something proven?

I'm sure I have prints for an AR-15 lower made from plate stock around here somewhere - it may look ugly, but it works - which is the important bit. And, I'm sure I have ordnance prints for most issue small arms floating around here somewhere - current and obsolete (bear in mind that most issue small arms - particularly the former Eastern Bloc stuff - are designed to be easy to manufacture so they can be reliably made in a hurry. Hell, the primary receiver for an AK is made from folded heavy-gage sheet steel!)

You can build a sten or 45 grease gun from DOM.... what were they, $4.95 ea to build in WWII dollars.
The only issue I see is primers, I've looked around for a swager like speer started out with, they swaged their first cast bullets using fired .22 cases to make them jacketed.
I actually have an old swaging tool for making lead bullets out of lead rod or coils b ut I don't know where to get it anymore.
Shopsmith anyone...
