Hd offroad stiffies front-rear. Re 3.5" coils, re mono tubes. Adjustable upper and lowers. Iro double sheer track bar. Rears bastardized ome leafs. 1.5" bastardized for 3.5". 3.55s, ax15, and 31s.

My next set of tires will be 33x10.5. What else should I do to start getting my jeep more of a jeepspeed style setup. Idc for tech legal but would love to start prerunner at some of the races. I followed Jim's build a lot and have been trying to follow it as best I can.

more lift, drop brackets or long arms, better shocks, cage, search.

Buy a ranger, tacoma, or bronco. Youve allready mentioned your displeasure with the xj, why waste time and money building one if you cant even be bothered to look around at build threads?

More than likely need more lift in order to get decent uptravel for spring under. In theory you can swap in a MJ axle for that.
Better shocks, prothanes or air bumps? RE4.5 coils are inexpensive from seriousoffroad, I believe they have a better spring rate. The flatter the front short arms are in the front, the better will handle.

No advantage to swapping in an MJ axle. XJ's and MJ's don't have their springs at equal spacing apart, so you'd have to cut the mounts off and re-do them the same way you would with the XJ axle.

Im displeased with a few things about a straight axle prerunner. But I've got a lot out for stroker. Plated frame in process. Long arm/flat belly xmember. I've just got too much into at this point to get rid of it. Live and you learn, if the unibody fails ill probably get another :confused1
Anyway sounds like 5" is the basic. Long arms was already in the works, hence the xmember/flat belly & stiffeners. 2.0 resi shocks since it won't be a dedicated jeepspeed just a toy. I've got the track bar setup, HnT for the 242 I'm throwing in. 5speed & full time 4wd..mom fun:D

What's the opinion on these vs a boomerang shackle or normal relocators? not looking to be jeepspeed legal so thats not a concern. Seems like you could make it work better to get your leafs setup just right. I know Jim said he was doing a custom 7" shackle to get his setup just right..seems easier and would have a better shackle angle to boot.

Ya I've been following closely. I've been going over Jim's build daily. Also on most every jeepspeed build on jeepspeed.net still. I'm going through a lot. I wish I would of started with an expo but I wanted a 5speed, didn't find one. Found a 5speed xj the same day and jumped on it. Oh well it'll work for me.
Sounds like 240ish lbs coils are the normal for crawler/jeepspeed. Deavers are best but I doubt ill find a set cheap. 6" fab tech cut for ride height sounds plausible though. I do have some variable rate range coils..I was told jeep coils but they can't be, to thick, way to many coils rungs. But they could work?

I have the RE 4.5" springs with 11" fox 2.0 res shocks and an IRO long arm kit in the front. It works pretty well and when I get the rear all done it should hang. I want a little stiffer spring than the RE as I have the shocks valved pretty high ( IIRC 85 ) and they still need more. The rear is a ford 8.8" axle with ruff stuff axle swap kit (beefy) 2.75" old man emu rear HD leafs and 8.5" fox 2.0 res shocks in stockish location. The rear sucks... :bawl:

I plan to put a custom triangulated 4 link the the rear coping the one my brother did for his ZJ only I will have 14" fox 2.0 coilovers going in to the cab and into a cage. for whoops you jsut want it very stiff. Stiff springs and stiff shocks.
