Grizzly Man - Movie of the year.

Without a doubt, the most unintentionally funny movie I've ever seen.
I knew this guy was a fawking freak case but expected him to be an idiot-environmentalist-living-with-bears freak case, not the homeless-guy-argueing-with-the-voices-in-his-head freak case he turned out to be.

Werner Herzog trying to get you to take him seriously was classic.
The coroner was way too good

Watch this movie thinking about "Waiting for Guffman" or "A Mighty Wind".
Christopher Guest as Timothy Treadwell.

Hilarious.

totally agree

Watched it with my wife a week or 2 ago... So sad... The man was the bear's only protector & apparently their only meal as well. I know it's twisted, but I found it extremely funny as well. 2 thumbs up for an unintentional comedy. Too bad he had to drag his girlfriend into that mess in his head.

Yep, That guy was a certifiable Nut Job. Truely showed when he started getting all excited & fillping off the camera. Even he's girl friend began to wonder about him. Like the guy said "Got what he deserved"

Enviormental Wacko :lickout: Bears like

I laughed at it too... while cheering for the bears. Sucks they didn't play the audio of dinner time - That spoiled the whole thing for me.

All in all, a waste of a couple hours, but had some great scenery of Kodiak Island

I watched most of it.....had to stop.... that person was disturbed in a big way..... guess he forgot that most bears might be considering humans as something for lunch, rather than their protectors...... :wierd:

If you look closely at the fox(es), it's obvious what they were thinking. 'If I was as big as that fawkin bear over there, I'd eat this dumbass RIGHT NOW!'

:)

Being picky... it was in Katmai National Park, on the Alaska Penninsula (across the sea from Kodiak). Close in the grand scheme of things...

Um... Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the Park Service have to shoot the bears that ate him and his girlfriend? Way to go man! Protect those bears!

ok, i'm lost. i don't know exactly what you guys are talking about. but from what i've gathered here, it sounds like some idiot shoots a documentary about wildlife (bears) and then gets himself destroyed by the subject. wow, someone point me in the direction to see this!

She was from Valparaiso, about 20 minutes from me.
Made big headlines here when it happened.
Think about it, what kind of nut case follows this freak into bear country?

I think my favorate part was the evil smilie face warning him that they were after him.

That and in the beginning when the guy who took out the remains said, "I think the bears just left him alone cause they thought he was mentally retarded."
So much funnay.

its kinda sad, i hadn't seen the movie but was interested an seeing it. i seen previews of it and was thinking this guy was nuts, and i only heard rumors he got eaten. This is the first i've heard of his girlfriend being eaten too. I'll still take a look at the movie. its unfortunate it turned into a circus show, i enjoy a good documentary now and again. I didn't know they had them in film being eaten either YUK!

No video and they don't play the audio for the movie.

They didn't have the attack on film. Supposedly the girlfriend turned on the camera when the bear came into camp. It was dark so they only have audio. They didn't play the audio on the show.

This really wasn't a documentry in my opinion. It was more of a psycological case study that many psy classes will take full advantage of for years to come. We need Beej's take on this.

i see again its to bad this guy was a head case

He was there for 13 summers though, and in that time they said that not one bear was poached. The next summer after he died, rangers found I think 6 carcasses due to poachers. The bear that ate them had either killed or attacked a human before, so chances are another human encounter would occur and putting him down was the smart thing to do. The dude definitely was a freak and had severe mental problems, especially when it came to standing up to some of those confrontations.
