Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. I just bought a stock 97 XJ sport with 120K and I will pick it up in a couple of weeks. I previously had a 94 XJ country but that has since been passed on to my sister who for some reason thinks she needs a Jeep to run 3 miles to work everyday.

The first mod I'm looking at is a fuel injector swap for some from a stratus/sebring to make the fuel economy not quite so terrible (granted that's what my scooter is for...)

Oh about the name, I'm a herpetologist (reptile researcher) and I specifically work with Water Snakes here in Tn.

Welcome to the site. We have a lot of middle Tn members in the area.

Post up some pics when you get a chance.

I've never heard of the swap you are talking about. Do you have any links to it?

Also never heard of the injector swap... interesting.
Definately post up some pics, a snake specialist huh, pretty cool.
Whats snakes are you particularly knowledgable of? Own any or just work with any?
I enjoy snakes myself, did some community service at a wildlife center and got the chance to handle a few different breeds, non venomous ofcourse, but always alot of interest. Little experience with some copperheads Ive found on the property.

Welcome. You oughta come to the Cherokee crawl or just head up to Harlan one day, you might come across a rattler or two! :D

All that trouble for a 1 mpg gain? if i wanted a gas sipping car.. i'd get a .. car

mark

Haha, I checked with the local u-pull it junkyard and I can get the injectors for about $50 and then it will cost me all of $20 more to recondition them myself. So for $70 if I can get at least 1mpg it's worth it. The possibility of getting more than a 1mpg increase is intriguing enough for me to do the swap.

Besides, wrenchin on a car is the best form of relaxation I can find...

Welcome to the playground!!!

Snakes, huh? Well, I suppose somebody's got to do it. At last years Crawl there was about a 4' Timber Rattler killed. The bushhog won the fight.

It'll be good to have you around!!;)
