Govt rights to track you

Read that. My first thought was: If you find a strange piece of electronic crap hanging off your junk, and remove it/throw it away, can you then be charged with destroying government property?

Please... this is nothing new. There are certain few govt agencies and subagencies that if they have reason to believe an individual needs to be tracked, they'll do it... no need for warrants or privacy concerns.
BUT
Public law enforcement agencies should NOT be allowed to operate like that. I find it a bit concerning that these judges ruled as they did.

That is a scary ruling indeed. To decide that the government is free to enter your property, uninvited, unwanted, and without a warrant, hook up a tracking device and monitor your movements, all without your knowledge is worrisome. I'm glad that they threw in the little bit about having gates and fences since my yard is fenced, but rarely is it locked when I'm home. They'd probably say no problem to opening the gate and coming in.

Yikes, that's complete BS!

Especially the bit about your yard being "public" because it's not fenced off, that opens up all kinds of cans of worms about private property rights - hell, it could be used to justify illegal wheeling. :flamemad: this better go to the supreme court or get overturned lower down.

If they decide to hang one of these on my jeeps, fortunately I'm under them often enough that I will notice within a few days... and the tracking device will mysteriously end up on a random vehicle in the parking lot at work the next day. Garbage data is worse than no data!

I think Supreme Court would have to be the next stop. After hitting the 9th circuit, things usually go to the Supreme Court.

So I wonder if they would get upset if we walked on to their property and put GPS locators on cop cars and judges vehicles? I could make a few bucks with an app that showed you where every cop car in town was.

that would most definitely be ungood :gag:

ya i was thinking the judges and police park on public grounds why not throw trackers on them?...
what kind of trouble could you potentially get into for that? especially if there were parked on a public street or a public parking garage....then what?

Better hope none of the conservative Justices get sick or worse!
Or Barry the Kenyan will get to appoint another leftist stooge (Like Sotomayor or Kagan) , tipping the balance & for sure allowing the Govt. to do whatever they want!

"Oh I'm sorry officer, I didn't realize this normal looking vehicle was your unmarked patrol car"
:D

Better yet, lets have the militia put GPS trackers on all federal and state employees, and have a free app for anyone that want's it. After all, they have no expectation of privacy as public servants!

Then the gov't would have every militia member and speed-trap avoiding citizen that downloaded the app on a nice little list titled "Homeland Terrorists" :wierd:

Own a gun? You are already on that list. Don't vote "Democratic"? You are already on that list. Member of the NRA or any other 2nd Amendment group? You are already on that list. Are you a U.S. armed forces veteran? You are already on that list. Ever challenge a LibTard professor in college? You are already on that list.

Just cause its in my nature to argue.... in CO, it isn't necessary to register a 'normal' firearm unless you purchase it from an FFL.

Same in OR, although they did wimp out and now require all firearm transfers at a gun show to go through a FFL dealer, with the state check.

Ever buy ammo for it? Religiously pay cash for that ammo?

I think the expense of doing something like this is what would keep it from actually happening. Big brother is spending our tax dollars... they have almost no limit of funds.

i dont think it would take very many trackers to get the poitn across. granted they arent cheap, but i dont think a fleet of trackers would be needed, just a few on some important vehicles and call it a day..
