any advice on getting this right back to stock allignment?

Well, it looks like someone tried to weld it, and was trying to weld it with their ass.
Maybe think about taking the hinge off, welding plate into the whole there, sanding it smooth, then try to add that hinge back to that area?

OMG u shoud jus go doorless lol!

Remove the door. Keep track of the shims. Keep track of where the hinge was.

Grind off some of the old weld from the hinge. Clean up the edges of the hole.

Weld in a thin patch piece where the hinge was. Weld the hinge to the patch piece.

Reinstall door. Shim and adjust to realign.

looks like a good buy! ^^when a hinge of mine broke, i did just what phil is describing, worked great

but you cant take the doors off! it will fold like a taco!!!

ok im done now.:D

There's a door hinge replacement kit for the olders Jeeps. I got the set for minor seperation (less then 75% of the weld) and the brackets work like a charm. They also have a full replacement version for hinges that broke off. It was a recall a while back. Try calling your dealer?

This is what you shoud do... what I did, since i didnt have much time, is took a piece of steel about 1/8" thick and 1" wide. welded that above where the hinge was starting to break free, bent it down over the hinge and welded that to the hinge, year later its doing jsut fine.

BUT with the way yours looks, Id go with cutting it out and welding in a patch. Just make sure you aling your door correctly, I didnt get mine quite right and now there is a gap in the door at the top where the weather stripping dosent cover. So when i goto a carwash or its raining pretty good while im on the highway, i get wet, But the door dosent rub or catch so I just need to replace the stripping with something thicker. Good luck =)

First know how to weld better than the last guy who tried to fix it...
Id mig or tig it.
With a mig just turn your heat way down and wire speed up. Nice wide bead to disperse the weight and to keep the sheet metal cool.
