got a letter from NBC

You think its just the lawyers? Ha.. Do your self a favor... shut your mouth until you have some real world experience.
Why so hostile towards the idea that people should tell the truth in court? If I find myself in court (which I might soon thanks to some recent occurrences for a friend...), I intend to tell the truth, the whole, and nothing but the truth, so help me God.

You might be ok with being a liar, but that doesn't we all want to be liars.

You don't have to lie, but you also don't have to tell them anything if it doesn't help your case. That's what the fifth Amendment is for.

This is why the proper response is "I need some proof from you, come back when you have it" and nothing more, as Talyn originally stated.

As a former phisherman, replying AT ALL, only tells this phisher that he's got a live fish on the end of his hook.... PROVERBIALLY tell em to XXXX off, ie, ignore their bullshit and go on with your day.

Sure, you could give everyone who talks to you a curtious response, but i akin this as to the crackhead asking for change, he didnt dignify a response with his first statement, he aint owed anything.

I don't disagree with not giving them anything. I think that is an extremely wise choice. The difference with Talyn and I seems to be that he thinks it's prefectly fine to lie in court because everyone else does. I wholeheartedly disagree with that.

Be smart, exercise your rights, don't offer any info, don't give them anything unless you are asked specifically in a court of law, and then if it would incriminate yourself, plead the fifth. But don't lie and try to get out of it that way. If it's ever found out, you could find yourself in worse trouble.
