My wife and I did some alpine mountaineering this weekend. We backpacked 15k into the wilderness and summited a set of twin peaks called the Golden Ears, NorthEast of Vancouver B.C.
Yesterday morning, this is where we woke up:
The late-summer early-morning snow is hard and frozen, so an ice ax and crampons are required for this kind of alpine snow travel.
