GENERAC PARTS SOURCE

I have a Craftsman portable generator that is about 10 years old, it's Craftsman in name only and is actually made by GENERAC. When it was new I faithfully started it once a month and ran it under load for about 1/4 hour. That's when it was new, it probably has leass than a 25 hours on it. I would like to change the oil, but...I can not find a source for the oil filter. The only small engine shop I went to said GENERAC parts are hard to come by, he suggested just draining the old oil from the filter and re-installing it.

The only parts source I found on-line in WI did not list oil filters. Any small engine mechanics here?

tried that last night using Craftsman 4200, GENERAC Model number on motor, etc to no avail.

This is too funny. I was working on 32volt generac engines while I was finishing college 2005. I might be able to come up with a filter number. But I think I crossed the generac filter to a fram #.

Measuring the gasket should be easy - if you can add a thread measurement to that, anyone with a Wix catalogue can do a reverse lookup on the filter using those two specs and get you something easier to find, if it's a spin-on.
