I have a OEM gas tank skid from pre 96 xj in good shape (all strait, never been hit).

I also have a 2" hitch receiver (class III or IV) without the wiring harness or nut strips.

Will that hitch fit a 99?

I do not know. I suspect there was a change in the 2" receiver for 96 compaired to prior but I am not sure.

you could call a couple of places and find out if the same one will fit. I believe the gas tank skid can be modified to fit, but not sure on the receiver hitch.
