Gas skid protection

I have a 2001 XJ and a friend has offered to me his stock gas tank skid from his 1997 wrangeler not sure if it will fit? Any way to mod it to fit.

Certainly won't fit in stock form. The two vehicles are totally different.

Dunno if it could be modded to fit, but my guess is it's not worth the effort that would be required. Get something made for the XJ.
