Hey Kris, this is what I was looking at doing with my Garmin E-Trek Vista. Haven't done it yet though, but it seems pretty straight-forward.

EDIT> Just realized you weren't looking for ideas, but where to buy. I'll just go back into the garage and mind my own bizzness now....

i'm lookin and leaning more towards the windshield suction cup one that way i can take it between vehicles...plus i'm not sticking anything permanent to the chevy's dash. NUH UH.

would u permanently mount it to a brand new truck? call me a woos if u want, but i actually want the interior of my truck to stay nice. jeep will prolly get a perm mount eventually.

Nah, I'd be the same way if I had a new truck as my DD. I just like to say MEOW.....

Kick ass looking truck too! In any case, I'm still no help whatsoever on where to buy a mount locally. Maybe a marine shop?

i just bought one from amazon...they were cheaper'n anyone else. 18 bucks for the windshield suction cup one:D

btw...i still want a flying spaghetti monster sticker thingy

thanks matt:)

well i see you just ordered one from Amazon... but if you want one local go to a Best Buy or other electronics store and look at the Ipod mounts they have. many of them are adjustable width and will work well with other devices. I use a $12 one (no suction cup) from Best Buy with my etrex; http://www.bracketron.com/xmain/ipm201.php

Uh oh, here we go again. I might have to get one like that, just to make Matt happy.

i've rode w/ people who seriously wheel w/ the windshield suction cup one, and it did just fine, just shook around, so my friends had it sit low enuf so that it rested on the dash

I have the windshield mount for my 60CSx. It works alright. A couple of times when it was warm in the day then the temp drops over night it would fall off. Also falls when heating the vehicle up in the morning with the defost. Make sure the glass is very clean. I like to use rubbing alcohol to clean the spot for the mount.

i posted this in the link that was posted earlier, but i used the hard - mounted marine mount that you're supposed to bolt down. however, i used heavy duty velcro. it has worked out extremely well. and since i now have 2 xj's, it's very easy to move back and forth between the two

Guess that depends on how hard you wheel :) Hahahaha. I've hit so hard trying to get out of the hot tubs in Moab that I've knocked the stereo out of the dash hahahaha :roflmao:
