Fuel pump question

So I got this Bosch fuel pump, I get the wiring but was wondering what this hole/screw hole is and does it need to be plugged before installing. Looks like where you'd screw a ground wire into but the plug already has that.

I would guess that you are looking at a feature intended for use in another application. Someone probably decided it was cheaper to make that particular pump fit multiple applications rather than make two (or more) separate part numbers.
