front driveshaft universal location

I pulled apart my front driveshaft and didn't note the location of the two different universals... the Haynes manual doesn have anything on the double cardan joints.

Do the two u-joints that are the same connect to the pinion and the transfer case or are they both suppose to go in the double cardan joint? Thanks for the help

The double cardan (often incorrectly called a CV joint) is located nearest the transfer case.

The two in the double cardan joint are the same, the one on the pinion is different.
