Ford axel lengths?

I was hoping somebody might know the width of the dana 44, and 9inch in the early broncos compared to the ones that came in my 78 Bronco? Any info would be great!

Not true. Later models (1970-1990 series)
The front axle is almost always an inch or two wider. It helps the vehicle track better. You are correct in the thought that the amount will probably be invisable to the untrained eye.
