Ford 8.8 Backing Plate?

im not going to be hooking up the ebrake. so i was looking for a way to get the carrier bracket off the axle without having to pull the shaft. going to be a pita at the j/y

Good luck... fairly certain it wraps all the way around the axle tube. You're probably going to have to pull the shafts.

Bring a 1/2" socket for the cover bolts and a 5/16" 6pt (accept no substitutes) for the cross shaft retention bolt and you will not spend more than a few minutes on it though.
