I have in my Jeep now that i am driving a great condition 4.0 that has about 100k on a rebuild, and an fairly fresh AX15 that i will no longer need around the end of May. I am starting over on a newer XJ and its got a good engine/tranny already in it, so i will no loner need these.
The engine was rebuilt by Cleggs of Orem, Ut. The thing runs great and delivers plenty of power, its got an aftermarket header of some type on it, and doesn't really seem to leak or burn oil, at least not in a quantity that i notice between oil changes, and it doesnt leave spots on the driveway.also, i haven kept up on maintenance since i have owned the Jeep.
As for the AX15 i just installed it into the Jeep in October of '10 and i did pull it from a Jeep in a local yard. It came out of a 92 that only had 148k on it, but had been in a front end collision. When i drained the oil from it it was like i was looking at pure honey, and since then its only had the Pennzoil Synchromesh transmission lubricant in it. It drives and shifts extremely smooth and has had zero problems at all.
If you are in the market for a new engine or are looking for that AX15 to swap in place of your BA10/5, drop me a line. I am not in a hurry to get these gone, and as previously mentioned i am not going to be dismantling the current XJ they are in until May, so you can come check them both out and ensure they will work for you long before you actually buy them.
