Flux core weld bead pinholes?

1985xjlaredo is correct it is called pulse mig, my machine has setting for on off time it is used for stitching thin sheet at low amp. from what i read in the posts you are either using a dual shield type wire or you are not using the right polarity. with self shielding mig wire like Lincoln l56 you should be using reverse polarity and slow down your feed speed, it should sound like bacon frying. also make sure everything is clean, clean and clean. I do fab work for a living so if i can help you, just ask..

Pulse migs are the tits! ESPECIALLY for exhaust work/aluminum tubing. I've done the same tack tack method on exhausts in the driveway before, but agreed, it's ghetto. I would never do it for anything that was subject to a load.
