Flowmaster muffler

So the back half of my exhaust seems to have gotten somewhat mangled in Moab. The tailpipe is currently hanging underneath the shackle and rattling something fierce.

Got to take it over to the muffler shop to get it straightened out and thought about having a Flowmaster muffler installed if the stock one is at all torn up. What's the proper Flowmaster muffler for a 1999 XJ?

What's the benefit to mandrel bent pipes?

Go with a 40 series delta flow...

Mandrel bent pipes are ideal for exhaust as they create less restrictions in airflow by not changing the diameter of the pipe and creates a smoother radius...go look at the exhaust section at your local autozone and youll see the difference in the pipes(the ones there are NOT mandrel bent)...will you see a performance increace on your XJ with mandrel bends?? Probably not, but they look alot nicer.

I'm running a Flowmaster 50 serieson my 97'.

I'm in love with it, not too loud, not to quiet. Very streetable, no chance of cop troubles, and you can hold a conversation at 4k rpms and hear hear every word. But when you walk by the Jeep, you can hear that it on, and you can hear it's got a Flowmaster.

I had a Magnaflow high flow cat put on too.

If I had it to do over again, I'da kept my stock exhaust probably. I had a 40 series delta flow put on, keeping all my stock pipes and adding a new standard cat. My exhaust is both loud and quiet. At idle it putters like a Flow should, and from idle to around 1750 RPMs it hums really loud, then from there it deadens out, then from around 2250 on it sounds like a mean, retarded Nascar.

Basically, I like it and I don't like it. It's has a nice deep tone, but at 4K RMPs I can forget about trying to talk, that thing is LOUD.

cant remember what number it is, but get the SUV performance one. Its awesome. High flow enough to open up stock to lightly modified engines and nice low rumble all through the power band. great great muffler.

Rustys 4X4 has a nice cat back system the includs Flowmaster that works well and is not to loud.

x2, had their system on my 93 for about 3 years now and it sounds great. has a very nice sound that in my opinion is perfect as far as being loud. its like you can definately hear it and tell you have an aftermarket system but is definately not to loud to the point that you cannot hear or anything. would definatly recommend it, also the price is right.

I got a flowmaster 40 series installed a few days ago and I already love it. It's not too loud inside and I can feel a difference in the throttle response and top end power.

I run the 40 3 chamber which is loud but not too bad, you can get the 2 chamber which is REAL loud, I love the note that mine plays at
