There is not much close to St. Pete. Probably your best bet is the Withalacoochee State Forest east of Dade City. The best way to access this is from State Road 471 between 98 and 50. Most of the trails are to the East of 471. Another good place is the Ocala National Forest. Many miles of trails and a good place to camp. Be careful during hunting season in either of these places.Hope this helps.
