fitment of a baldish 33

i actually dont like the look of procomps goodyear and bfg are what i like to see on wheelin rigs... other then the intercos of coarse

and you have some on the truggy tisk tisk i think there cool not like they are permanent they are just untill i can get money saved for my KM2s
The truggy is not a DD.

I have not run MTRs, but guys I know who do say they are the suck on ice. Still, they run them...much slower on ice. :)

MTR's are crappy daily drivers, their compound is pretty soft!! I have always loved BFG's as their compound is a tad harder and still work as good or better than MTR's. I am running a set of MAXXIS Mudders and have been very happy with them though they wear a little faster than my last set of BFG's. BFG's balance very well too! I would NEVER run any Interco tire as a DD........ trail only.......yes......DD....NNNNNOOOOO!!:peace:

MTR's do suck......I watched my good friend go through two sets while I was on my BFG M/T's cause they wore our way too fast. Going 33's is fine crimson but smaller tires with good tread beat out bigger tires with no tread during the snowy months :eyes:

I ran a set of MTRs about 4-5 years ago. I really liked them. The compound is soft which makes them decent off road. They didn't seam to wear out too fast either. They broke down pretty even, no lug chunking like some BFGs I have had in the past.

Has Goodyear changed the compound since they were introduced? If not I would run them again. There are only a handful of days along the Front Range that require icy daily driving.

I did sipe them from day one though. That may have helped them stay cooler and work better for me in the snow and ice.

I agree, while they are loud on the road once they reach 1/2 tread, they have really tough sidewalls and are great offroad. The set I'm selling has somewhere around 25k on them, with a heck of a lot of tread left, so soft or not, they are getting similar milage as BFGs I have had in the past. You have to keep in mind when you read about low milage experiences what type of rig the tires are on -- I have had buddies get 25k out of BFGs on full size rigs, while I have always gotten twice that in Jeeps or import trucks. Vehicle weight makes a huge difference.

you guys make them sound bad but when these are done with im going to be going with some at mt or km2 still haven't decided... would it be worth it to get these siped when i get them?

I considered it. I can say that my siped BFG MTs were one of the best all around tires I ever had, aside from, like MTRs, being loud as hell past 1/2 tread...

About six months ago I picked up a set of used MTRs with only 20% tread left (hey, they were only $100) and they've been awesome. Not noisy at all on the road and they've done well off road. Heck those worn down things got me through Eagle Rock, Red Cone, Chinaman Gulch and several other trails. They did fine in the recent snow we've had too.

I just swapped them out this weekend for another set of MTRs with 65% tread and I'm noticing a lot more noise. I figured they'd be noisier with less tread, but it appears to be other way 'round... :dunno:

Anyway, I just wanted to post up my experience for you. I think the MTRs will do you just fine.

whoo after a long 2 hour drive i made it home and i found out my jeep is really reliable well anyone know where i can get tires dismounted for CHEAP? yella ya still got that tire machine? i gotta leave the rims with you anyway so...might as well check

I don't think I can fit a 33" tire on my old machine. Well, at least to break both beads. It might work if we break one side and flip it to break the other - I'm sure the top bead arm won't fit though. I'd also have to see the rims and make sure we wouldn't cause any damage to 'em by flipping the pretty side down to bust that bead.

could i bringem over now? or are ya busy?

Jeezus..... you didn't have plans for tonight? Gawd, if I'da known that, I'da called ya. I was out with Kris and DJ - we saw Valkyrie and then CB & Potts after that.

Gimme a call this weekend - gotta work Thurs and have plans Friday.

i never have plans i just played tiger woods all night haha anyways got the tires and rims all nice and clean

also thinkin about buyin some black steelies i like the look but everyone has them...

Yeah, I'm fairly certain I'm not gonna be able to bust those off the rims. MTR's are notorious for tight beads and my tire machine isn't bolted down to anything - I'd just end up dragging the machine all around trying to remove the tire from the rim.
