Feeler: SEC Rafting Trip

Local radio station has a nice half price deal with Outdoor Adventure Rafting. 2 for 1 rafting on the Ocoee. Makes it $20 per person instead of $40. I've been a couple of times and would like to go again. Anyone else interested?

I would do it if I was confident in my back's health on a raft. I spent a lot of time up there a couple of years ago getting certified in swift water rescue and it's always a blast.

Pretty open to just when works best for everyone else. The currently have 88 deals left to purchase. Figured that would be a pretty central event also for some of the more east coast members to hang out with more western members.

BTW Do they still do twice the flow?? (they open the dam more...more water = more FUN!!) I know they did this years ago. I havent been in prob 7-8 yrs. Love the ocoee!

If enough mid tn guys want to go I could drive our navigator, yeah i know it's not a jeep, but it would seat 6 so we would all save on gas. I was thinking about making it either a day trip: head out saturday morning, raft, grub/beers, and head back in the evening. or camp saturday night and head back in the am.

Post up what time frame works best for everyone and we will see what lines up.

4th of July weekend is out of course due to the crawl.

The Ocoee is a fun river, especially now that they have reopened the upper section, but that can be difficult to reserve and expensive. I'm going to keep a close eye on this, Depending on the weekend it is certainly a possibility. It would be nice to run a river without guiding for once.

If you guys are serious, My brother is a raft guide, has a boat/paddles/jackets. He usually works the New and Gauley rivers in WV but is in school now.

lets do it...weekend works out best here also. I can be up there like 9-10am then raft. I'll camp that night. Good chance i'll have a buddy with me from NC...he wheels an old CJ. Good dude!!

well... i actually live here but prolly not get to go, mostly because either my weekends are filled up or because i will have a new baby in middle july so my weekends will be with family.... ill watch for a date and if it doesnt work out you guys can always swing by and see me while your in town... free camping in my back yard, limited space but i have a fire pit (slightly over grown but still burns)
