Are there any "fahncy" valve covers out there available for the 4.0.

I was thinking something ribbed with a crinkle finish or similar.

I'm guessing there is not much for the 0331. What about the 0630? I'm not even sure they use different covers...

The aluminum valve cover was used on 4.0ls as well. IIRC they switched to the steel one in 95 or 96. All HO heads accept both valve covers provided the correct gasket (grommets and spacers as well in the steel version), fill cap, and crankcase vent fittings are used.

Cool, good to know. I always liked to Al ones... getting one powder coated would be good enough for my purposes.

If you can find a stock aluminum VC you can use high temp primer and wrinkle black paint to get the same look as the powdercoated a lot cheaper. Ive done several and once dry I scraped/sanded the ribs then used a high temp cleared it and it stayed looking great.

Thanks for the pointer.

Not much out there really. Clifford I think makes some VC's but I think they all say Clifford on them. Then theres
the painted ones that look pretty much stock. I never liked any of the choices out there so I'm making my own
tall, flat square valve cover. Try making your own! It'll be fun I swear!
