factory rack question

have an 01. I want to buy yakima railrider 2's but they say it fits up to 1999. Is there any difference between 99 and 01 that would make this not work on mine?

Well on 99-01 XJ. The factory roof rack rails are shorter in length. Instead of the rails going all the way to the front windshield they stop around where the front door starts. I think its saying up to the year 1999. Not including 1999.

how about the track itself? is it the same? I dont care if its shorter as long as the parts work in it.

I emailed yakima too, maybe they'll know

It's the same thing just shorter with different handles. It should still work, but might look funny.
