The FOA's are still having their leaking issues, they've fixed 2 different problems that I know of that they thought were causing it, but still seem to be having returns from current sales. That coupled with cast aluminum end's (the part of the shock taking the most beating) steered me away from FOA's.
Yea you can upgrade the caps, seals, etc. But by the time you upgrade everything you're spending just as much as one of the big 3 damn near. Don't get me wrong, they're a good shock for what they are, but there's no way they'd stand up to the beating I would give them. As for current issues, check DR. Still the issues in the last few pages. Besides, you of all people should be on bilsteins with the rest of us.

just trying to point out that FOA is standing behind thier products, and the cast caps are a non issue. a 12" FOA 2.5 with all the goodies (race seals, 90° fittings, billet caps) is only $217 directly from FOA. a King 12" resi prerunner series with none of the add ons is 300+ from down south motorsports. i realize they arent cheap, but its one of the first king dealers that comes up on google. the cheapest 12" king prerunner i can find is 299 and again, thats with no upgrades. a 12" FOA without the upgrades is 165$. they should be fine for the average driver... not everyone drives like us Jim
