They're being conservative, I have a flowmaster 50 series deltaflow, magnaflow highflow cat and 2.5" pipe and Ive noticed no loss in torque and a definite increase in power. The stock pipe is 2.25" and Flowmasters are a chambered muffler so you will have enough backpressure. It sounds great too, btw, its only loud when i want it to be. It is strangely loud right at and only at 1500 rpms though.

Agreed. Kolak told me that 3inch piping is too big and we will loose low end torque, but 2.25 isn't enough flow plus the stock piping sufferes from poor bends being non mandrel bent.

hey there a few good places here in fredericksburg. One of them is little tire on prinsess ann st , Thier exaust guy Jim is one of the est i've seen and has done a lot of systems for me. You could proble use a banks down pipe as well since thier header bolts up to the stock system and then you can buy the down tube witch over all is a rip off. As for headers i'd us a borla or mike leach.

i'm running a thorley header at the moment and i love it. little tire, huh? i've got to run by there sometime. yeah, i kinda figured that the down pipe would be a ripoff, but the quotes that i saw for a down pipe are outrageous too, so.... btw, you have many places to ride down there?

Does anyone know if the jet hot coating for headers is worth it?

Is anyone running one of the new Hooker Areochamber mufflers My buddy's got the complete catback on his lt1 camaro and sounds good at idle not too loud but still a nice rumble then when he gets on it it screams and screams beautifly but i was curious to know how the 4.0 sounds with it

I have a set of those on my '68 Fairlane w/289. I really like the way they sound plus they are very free flowing and much less $$$ than Flow Masters. I was all set to put one on the Jeep but decided to go with the much more compact and cheaper Dynomax Bullet. The thing I like about the Hooker is they make a nice low tone idle note. It's a great strong muffler that flows very well and is worth a try.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost?
