Alright, I'm looking at getting a new exhaust system this summer considering that my header has a nasty crack in it and was looking at getting a Banks Torque Tube, a high-flow cat (or removable cat), a Flowmaster 40 series, and having the eaxhaust exit right in front of the passenger side rear tire. Let me see your setups and know what you have and how you like it!

You can't have the tail pipe exit in front of the rear tires with a 40 series theres just not enough room and its illeagel in most states. Plus you will loose alot of ground clearence there and probally rip it off. But if youre set on it you could run a trumpet syle exsaust similer to the 70 Challenger T/A and 70 AAR Cuda with a flowmaster 80 series part #52580.

Also this summer when I save up I'm getting a Mike Leach header with jet-hot coating, 2.5" downpipe, 2.5" high flow cat, 2.5" Flowmaster 30 series, and 2,5" rustys tail pipe.

How much does a mike leach header run and is it worth it?

anyone know where i can get a downpipe for a 99 xj 4.0? i'd like to get an aftermarket one, but i'm not positive you can buy just the down pipe. i've got a doug thorley header and stock exhaust so far....

Only place to go is your local muffler shop and have them bend one up

yeah, figured, but the only one around me wants 200 for just that. i told them to eat a big one...

Jeez.. what a rip off, around here you can get header to tail pipe bent for about $100. Time to get to know someone that knows someone, that knows how to bend pipe.

I know how to lay pipe...... :laugh3:

lol, yeah, i can lay quite a bit of pipe, but as far as exhaust is concerned, yeah, lol. cant do that. HodgePodge, i agree totally! i've only been in the area for 7 months and there's not a whole ton of people i've found that mess around offroad. i think i might just have to find some people though.

I have a Banks Header that is Jet Hot Ceramic Coated, custom downpipe, with a Gibson SS Catback and replaced the Gibson Muffler with a FM Super 40 Muffler... sounds baddass!

I too Have the Gibson muffler at this time and hate the way it sounds because it sounds like rice which I so greatly hate.

I've got the Gibson Cat-Back as well. I can't stand it. The muffler is twice the size of the stock one, which lowered my ground clearance, and the exhaust note is too quiet and ricey for me. I'm replacing it with a Flowmaster series 40 sometime this summer.

freakin rice exhausts!

my cherry bomb is rice. definitely don't go this way.

i need to hear the 40 series, like on rusty's. i think that is the way i am going to go. an exhaust shop told me that 2.5" was too big but that is what the rusty's is. i think maybe the exhaust shop is being conservative.

hey there a few good places here in fredericksburg. One of them is little tire on prinsess ann st , Thier exaust guy Jim is one of the est i've seen and has done a lot of systems for me. You could proble use a banks down pipe as well since thier header bolts up to the stock system and then you can buy the down tube witch over all is a rip off. As for headers i'd us a borla or mike leach.

They're being conservative, I have a flowmaster 50 series deltaflow, magnaflow highflow cat and 2.5" pipe and Ive noticed no loss in torque and a definite increase in power. The stock pipe is 2.25" and Flowmasters are a chambered muffler so you will have enough backpressure. It sounds great too, btw, its only loud when i want it to be. It is strangely loud right at and only at 1500 rpms though.
