That's a bummer! Looks like it's going to be a slow going summer for camping.....

That's too bad. I understand their concern, but so many forests now need a good fire. They all have so much dead fall and unhealthy trees, preventing the inevitable only makes them worse when they do happen.

From the map, it appears that maybe Black Bear/Imogene and most of the northern trails are not covered, but anything Silverton and south is hit. Check the map for further details, or better yet, call the ranger station.

Yeah there are only a few trails involved in this for now. Campfires are still prohibited but wheeling out of San Juan county is still a go.

From what I read this closes Black Bear and the Silverton side of Stony Pass. For now everything else is open.
