engine bog at 4000 rpm

Quick Question I have an 87 2.5L TBI and I get a fuel bog at 4000 rpm like it runs out of gas I have changed the filter and adjusted the pressure to 15 PSI
Never have been able to get above 4000 rpm since I got it in march. Could the pump deliver good pressure but not enough volume? Any suggestions where to start to cure this ? Could I run the pressure to like 20 or 25 without any damage?

i thought i had the same prob. turned out to be the cat. convert. was alomst closed up. replaced it whole new jeep then.

Ill try to bypass it before I cough up the money for a new one :shocked:
funny though at an idle seems to be alot of exhaust coming out the pipe seemingly unrestricted. but a full throttle may be diffrent.

:firedevil I took off the cat and its an empty case nothing in it see straight through so I dont see any blockage there any other ideas? new injector maybe? Hopefully I can do some cheap trouble shooting first Im really limited on funds at the moment.

i have seen bad o2 sensors cause funny driveability complaints on throttle boby injected jeeps. any way to get the readings of the sensor?
