ECORS - The Flats - March 12

Is this like baja with rock climbing? I've never been to anything in this state so I am unaware. I don't understand the classing either.

I have a 4.5" lift with 31x10.50's with the 8.25 in the rear and a 4.7 broker---I mean stroker---in the front. Also have an ARB bull bar and some ignition/fuel management upgrades but I don't think that counts for anything. Magnaflow cat-back.

AW4.

..and a 32 lb foot.

...just watched the video. That shows anything but a stock XJ. They all look Xtra-NOT-XJ. I'm not understanding.

Class a is stock to 35" with 1 locker IIRC.
Class b is up to 40" tire and one set of coilovers or air shocks.
class c is run what you brung.

Most of the XJ's are in class a and run 31's, 33's, or 35's.

Don't race your XJ if you want to be able to drive it in a year. The video shows a lot of Class C (KOH style rigs) but a $500 stock XJ took second place in Class A last year. Come out to the race next weekend and give it a look. You'll be hooked in 10 minutes.

Last year at the Flats I saw a rollover, and I saw a buggy drive over the tires of another guy who had parked in the course. Can't remember what all else, but it was a blast.

At the DPG season ender, I saw 3 xj's rollover, 1 buggy rollover, and more...

This series is wild and anyone who hasn't been its well worth it, I plan to be at most the races in NC.

Loki, I will try to find the clip of tony at the dpg with the shaft coming out, its just damn good racin.

Thats the 500 dollar xj that almost won the series, if he hadn't snapped that shaft, or rigged it back together in time, he could have finished the race and he would have won the series.

They also have built a jump at the flats race, heres the video of a guy testing it.

That looks like a Grand Cherokee. I should be there helping Andy.

I liked doing a little night time baja'ing out in the deserts of 29 palms. I never broke anything, but I wasn't exactly going through big rocks. Just up and down sandy hills and over small brush-trees here and there. That was the funnest thing I've done to date with my XJ.

It definately isn't a grand cherokee.... This is the same jeep at the bottom of that large rock mid climb.

Yea, that is much easyer to see.

Bump for this. Weather is looking like upper 60's and sunny. Open riding on Sunday if you are a paying spectator Saturday. It's a private park, only open to the public a couple times a year. Lots of trails from mild to wild.

I'll be there as far as I can tell. Hopefully nothign will get in the way.

I will be there with Andy @ Ironman4x4fab. Will not have the jeep and will have one of the boys with me.

Wow! That is all for now. :confused1
