It's that time again, ECORS is about to start picking up. XJ's dominate Class A (stock class) and it's fun to watch people beat their rigs to death.

The first race of the season will be March 12 at The Flats (in Marion, NC).

If you haven't been to a race, you're missing out.

Damn... that looks like a friggin blast. Might have to build a Race XJ.

Where (geographically) are the other races for ECORS held? The schedule area of the site is sorta confusing.

Haha, I'm actually responsible for the site, and it's 100 times better than before. The schedule doesn't have write ups for all the races yet, that's why it's confusing and we don't display all the races for a season in one location. I will add that once I get the full list.

A $500 XJ took second. All he did was weld the D35 and put bumpstops on.

there is one in auburn al. at the great american park. im planning on going down to watch.

if you build a race xj for this you might need a co driver... hint hint...

I shall be there Chris...I spoke to Pary about it and she's wanting to go...

also put a thread about my steering issue up in the "mod tech" area (side bar)

Sorry, didnt mean to offend anyone. :D

I just didnt see what the other race locations were. I would seriously consider building one if the races are close enough to me. The NC one is pretty close, and Auburn is certainly doable, but wasnt sure if half of them are Jersey or something crazy like that. "East Coast" is kind of a broad geographic description when determining practical driving distances for a weekend type event.

What was last years schedule?

You didn't offend. The site was done on a $0 budget, so it's a work in progress (between my day job and wrenching).

Most of the races are in North Carolina, or were last year.

I think theres one in SC, one at harlan, one in Alabama this year though?

The Flats - Marion, NC

DPG - Trinity, NC

Probably be a Harlan Race again...

Was a race in Vale, NC last year

I think a race in Spartanburg SC last year?

Im sure someone else knows better but most are in the southeast.

They have had them at Mountain City, TN and Troy, NC too in the past. Your furtherest destination would most likely be Harlan stump. The one in Spartenburg is at the EROK track there I do believe.

Andy @ IronMan4x4Fab is going to be racing a 5.9 Grand in it. We have been talking a lot about it. I'm hoping to find the time and money for gas to go to the flats to help out on Saturday.

Yeah, Ive raced "something" for as long as I can remember, from Topfuel Motorcycles, to R/C Cars and Boats.... This could be fun. Im thinking the wife would be the 'wheelman' just for grins. I would be the pit bitch, but thats ok.

Maybe we will make a race soon to check it out. I was hoping to start racing in a rally series with a XJ, but the races are just too spread out.

Howdy from the Northeast - I'm halfass thinkin about coming down for this. I'd be in C-class though (coilovers all around).

Anyone have some pics of the bigger obstacles etc. on the course?

Ever been to Harlan? :shhh:

Each race is different. In Class A, we ran 55+ mph down trail 10 (I think that's what it called) and crawled almost none for the first half lap (before breaking).

Attrition is the biggest enemy. Going fast != winning. Knowing when to go fast and when to hold the rig together == win.

I'm well aware - did 7 races up here last season, with a relatively poor finishing rate.

The last one went well though, and my middle 3 laps (on a 11-mile course) were all within 10 seconds of each other. That time would have been good enough for top 5 in 6-cyl class if I didn't lose an upper link bolt on the last lap...
