Eaton M90 info request...

Does anybody have, or can anybody get me the specs or engineering drawings of an M-90? Specifically I need the bottom dimensions such as :mounting hole location and the output size and location in relation to the mounting holes. An engineering schematic of the bottom footprint would be best. As a part time hobby/project I have been getting myself reacquainted with solid works and I would like to start on a baseplate mounting setup for the 4.0.

side note: if anyone has good reference links to saddling a 4.0 with a blower I would appreciate it. I have seen a few overview write ups, but no detailed ones.

Hmm, maybe I could mail you pencil rubbings from the base of each one? Well, the GM one that is, the Ford one doesn't have a base gasket surface of course.

I thought the ford unit still had a mounting flange and gasket area on the bottom as well. I must have been looking at a picture of another unit.

Are you thinking of making an adapter plate or just making a new intake manifold? Think Performance used a stock 99+ intake that was milled down to accept the supercharger right on it. Something like kit 505 Performance was working on is sweet too, hood clearance and sleak with a new intake. I've always wanted to make a one-off intake, some thicker flanges and some tubes/sheetmetal.

I think you missed the point here.

I have the design software, and when I email the picture to my dad he owns the software, controllers and CNC Router needed to make the adapter plate. When I go home on leave we even have the aluminum blanks and a tig I would need to make the rest of it. I also have a few extra intakes laying around, so I can try different mounting setups If I want to. I know dad would love it if I got good enough at solidworks and design cad to be able to setup patterns for him.

The trial and error portion of getting everything setup right and designed correctly is half the fun for me. I don't live in an area where I can go 4 wheeling often, so for th next two years my rig is being built.

shoot, for $1000 plus shipping I will damn well try to do it myself.

plus on top of all of this, If I come up with a way to do it that can be easily cast, My dad has been running a green sand foundry with aluminum for about 30 years now, and I have been helping since I was about 4 ft tall.

Ideally I want to come up with something that can be cast in a rough form, then just machined into its final setup.

yea, but the realist in me says that the guy would either say no cause it was his hard work and golden egg, or that he is simply selling a product that someone else is making.

A supercharger is in the back of my mind. I would like to do one eventually and I have my original damaged block and head to make a mock up plus a spare 99+ intake manifold... just need time and money..

why not use a supercharger off a t-bird sc and mount it on the pass. side of the motor? My 'manche doesn't have a/c so there is room. The major differences between the t-bird and the buick versions is the outlets. The t-bird one blows out the top compared to the buick one blows out the bottom. Shoot, gather up all of the stuff out of a s/c-intercooler etc. Make some new piping and mounts and there you go

already thought of it. Either one could work. Part of this has started because I need a side project to take my mind off flight school. The other part is that I want a supercharger.
